Attorney at Law

Attorney Carrie A. Renner focuses her practice on the legal needs of individuals and families planning for their futures as well as handling the estates of loved ones who have passed. While Carrie takes great pride and precision in drafting important legal documents, her true passion lies in communicating effectively with clients — listening carefully to her clients’ goals and advising them of their options in a clear and understandable way.

Estate Planning

Carrie takes a whole-person approach to estate planning and believes that her job as legal counsel is to address both the head and the heart of every client. Comprehensive estate planning is about more than protecting and passing assets in the most tax-efficient way available; it is also about providing for others after you’re gone while preserving harmony in the family and leaving a legacy as meaningful as you are.

Cabin Planning

Minnesotans cherish the family cabin, and rightfully so – they are the place of family bonding and wonderful family memories. Many families would like to see the cabin stay in their family for generations to come. For second generations who share in that dream, proper planning can make shared ownership of a cabin predictable and harmonious for siblings, cousins and beyond. Attorney Carrie A. Renner would love to meet with you to discuss your cabin, your family and your dreams for the future of both.

Probate

The loss of a family member or close friend can be a confusing time, requiring those who are left behind to make many decisions. When it relates to transferring the assets of the person who has passed away, loved ones often turn to an attorney for help. The statutory requirements and procedures for administering an estate or trust can cause a lot of stress during an already stressful time. At Provision Law Firm, Attorney Carrie A. Renner makes it a priority to maintain clear, compassionate communication with her clients at every turn to minimize the stress involved. Together, she and her clients are successful at preserving and protecting the assets of the estate to every extent possible for the benefit of the loved ones left behind.

Carrie A. Renner is a 1996 graduate of Gustavus Adolphus College and a 1999 graduate of Mitchell Hamline School of Law (formerly William Mitchell College of Law) where she served as president of the Student Chapter of the American Bar Association and vice-president of the Law School’s Student Bar Association. She was recognized for her aptitude in legal writing and continued to hone those skills as a Judicial Law Clerk in Minnesota’s First Judicial District. Following her clerkship, Carrie took a sabbatical to work abroad in New Zealand and later returned to the States where she made spending time with her husband and four children a priority. Carrie has held numerous volunteer positions in her local school district, church and Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts of America. She is a member of the Minnesota State Bar Association’s Probate and Trust, Real Estate, Elder Law and Solo and Small Firm Law sections. She welcomes the opportunity to speak to your group about estate planning, cabin succession planning, estate and trust administration and more.
